About

I’m Paige Krsnak, a physics major at Queens College and an AstroCom NYC scholar. I work with Jillian Bellovary at Queensborough Community College and the American Museum of Natural History on how massive black holes shape the dwarf galaxies that host them, using cosmological simulations and the synthetic images and photometry drawn from that data. Jillian and I are interested in how results from simulations like ROMULUS can inform what we look for in real observations.

I came to this the long way around: a B.A. in astronomy from Columbia, a decade building a family, and a return to full-time study in 2025. Along the way I’ve taught physics and astronomy to students from elementary school through high school, and I still take any excuse to explain the size of the solar system to a room full of ten-year-olds.
